The short version

Rubbish removal in Dubai: the short version

We collect furniture, mattresses, appliances, garden waste, renovation debris and full clear-outs from homes, villas and offices in all areas of Dubai, 24 hours a day. You send photos on WhatsApp, we quote a fixed price, and a crew arrives in a window you choose. Waste goes to approved disposal sites, not the nearest empty plot. If Dubai Municipality’s free bulky waste service covers your address, try that first. The next section shows when it won’t.

Free options

Free junk removal in Dubai: what exists, and what it doesn’t cover

Dubai Municipality runs a free bulky waste collection for household furniture and electrical items. You can request it on 800900, on WhatsApp, or through the Dubai Municipality and Dubai Now apps. A municipality employee calls to schedule it, usually within about three days, and you get an SMS when it’s done. It’s a good service. It doesn’t fit every job.

  • Eligibility. Dubai Municipality says residents of real estate development zones and free zones are excluded. PropertyFinder’s February 2026 guide gives Palm Jumeirah and Discovery Gardens as examples. If you live in one, check your address before you wait.
  • Carrying. Items generally need to be left at ground level, near the building entrance or beside the bins, and crews generally don’t carry furniture down from high-rise flats (PropertyFinder, February 2026). If it’s on the 20th floor, someone has to get it down.
  • Timing. It’s scheduled, not on demand. If you’re handing a flat back on a fixed date, a few days may be too long.
  • Scope. It covers household furniture, large appliances and electronic items. Hazardous materials and bulky construction debris are excluded (PropertyFinder, February 2026). Renovation debris has its own rules (see below).
  • Reuse collectors. Charity and free reuse services are another route. They usually take items they can resell or repair, so broken, stained or mixed loads are often turned away.

01

Furniture removal. Sofas, beds, wardrobes, dining sets, desks. We dismantle what won’t fit through a door or lift.

02

Mattress disposal. Single to king, from any floor.

03

Appliances and AC units. Fridges, washing machines, ovens and split units. 04

E-waste. TVs, computers, printers and cables. For electronics that still work, the Municipality’s free collection may cover you — its home e-waste collection now runs with Enviroserve. Ask us and we will tell you honestly which route fits your load.

05

Garden waste removal. Palm fronds, hedge trimmings, grass and soil from villa gardens.

06

Renovation and construction debris. Tiles, plasterboard, wood and rubble, taken only to approved sites.

07

Not sure which one you need? Send photos and we’ll tell you.

Common problems

Problems we solve in Dubai buildings and villas

  • A fixed handover date. Your tenancy ends on a set day and the unit has to be empty for the check-out. We book to that date and message you when the crew is on the way.
  • Protecting your deposit. Anything left behind at handover can be charged back to you as removal and cleaning costs under your tenancy terms. Dubai law does not fix a deposit rate — 5% of the annual rent unfurnished and 10% furnished is market practice — so what is at risk is whatever you paid. We clear the unit fully, and you get after-photos for the check-out inspection.
  • Carrying from a high floor. The free municipal crews generally don’t carry furniture down from high-rise flats. We bring the crew and do the carrying.
  • Lifts and loading bays. Many towers ask you to book the service lift or loading bay and may set move-out hours. Ask building management for their rules, and we’ll tell you exactly what to ask for.
  • Who to trust. Search results are full of near-identical sites and social pages with different phone numbers. Ask any company for its permit number, and ask where the waste goes.
  • The free collector said no. If your items were refused because they’re too worn, mixed or large, send us photos. We tell you up front what we can and can’t take.
  • Palm fronds and cuttings. They’re bulky, heavy and awkward to move out of a villa garden. We bring the crew and the truck.
  • Water-damaged furniture. After heavy rain, ruined sofas and beds can’t stay in the flat. We clear them.

Building rules

Building rules: permits, service lifts and deposits

Every master community in Dubai runs moving its own way, and the permit and the lift are two separate steps. The ones that catch people out:

01

Emaar communities (Downtown Dubai, Dubai Hills, Arabian Ranches, Emirates Living, the Marina towers Emaar manages): move permits run through the Emaar One / Sakani system and can take 3 to 5 working days; a move-out can ask for your DEWA final bill. The service lift is booked separately, and a refundable lift deposit of AED 1,000 to 3,000 is common.

02

Nakheel communities (Palm Jumeirah, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Islands): community rules run through Nakheel’s own systems, and waste left in common areas is enforced, not ignored.

03

DAMAC and Dubai Properties buildings: moves are managed in the DAMAC Living and RealConnect apps. Tell us the building and we will tell you what to submit.

04

JLT (DMCC) and DIFC: each runs its own access rules, and JLT towers book the service lift tower by tower.

05

JAFZA: only contractors on JAFZA’s approved list can work inside the free zone. Check before you book anyone, us included.

Send your building name with your photos, and we will tell you exactly which permit and bookings your move needs — before the day, not at the security gate.

How it works

How a pickup works

1Send photos on WhatsApp to +971 558204830. Add your community, building or villa, the floor, and whether there’s a lift.
2We reply with a fixed price within 30 minutes. It covers labour, transport and disposal.
3Choose a window. Same-day pickup: message at any hour and we collect the same day, at the time you choose. We message when the crew is on the way.
4We carry out, load and clean up. You pay by online or cash and receive an invoice.

Prices

What junk removal costs in Dubai

Price depends on four things: how much there is (volume), where it is (floor, lift, parking distance), what it is (heavy or specialist items cost more to handle and dispose of), and how soon you need it.

JobTypical loadOur price (AED, from)
Single itemOne sofa, mattress, bed or chair, ground floor or lift100
Large applianceFridge, washing machine or oven150
Small load2 to 4 items, one truck200
Studio or one-bedroom clear-outContents of the flat300
Two- or three-bedroom clear-outContents of the flat500
Villa clearanceRooms, garage and storage600
Garden wastePer truckload200
Renovation debrisPer truckload400
Office clearancePriced from photos500

These are starting prices. Every price depends on the items and the distance: send photos of what needs to go, along with your location, and we fix the exact price before we set out. Stairs are priced into that quote, not added on the day. For a market reference, PropertyFinder’s February 2026 guide puts a small one-item, ground-floor pickup at AED 100 to 150, a standard one-truck job with stairs or a lift at AED 200 to 300, and large-volume or same-day jobs at AED 300 to 600 plus. Our starting prices sit at the low end of those ranges. Full details are on the prices page.

Licensed disposal

Licensed, legal disposal in Dubai

Waste collection companies in Dubai need a Dubai Municipality permit. Our permit number is 1486849. We’re happy to send a copy before you book.

Dubai enforces its dumping rules, and the checks are getting sharper: the Municipality has piloted AI cameras on waste trucks that spot littering and bulky items dumped in the wrong place. Littering carries a fine of up to AED 500, throwing waste from a vehicle AED 1,000 plus 6 black points, and hazardous waste left at an unauthorised site AED 50,000. And if a crew you hire dumps your load illegally, the problem can come back to you. That’s why we keep our permit visible and keep disposal records you can ask to see.

Disposal route

Where your waste goes

Nothing is dumped on empty plots. Every load is sorted first. Furniture and appliances that can still be used are offered to reuse collectors and local charities such as Beit Al Khair and Dar Al Ber. Wood, metal and foam from broken items are separated for recycling, and electronics go through the e-waste route Dubai Municipality runs with Enviroserve. Renovation debris moves the way Dubai requires: in licensed transport, with a Waste Transfer Note for the load and RASID-registered vehicles, to approved sites only. What cannot be reused or recycled goes to a Dubai Municipality–approved disposal site — the city’s waste system handles around 13,000 tonnes a day, including the Warsan waste-to-energy plant. If you want to know where your load went, ask us — we keep the disposal record for the job.

Areas

Areas we serve across Dubai

Dubai has no ZIP or postal codes. Addresses run on building and community names, P.O. boxes, and Makani numbers: a 10-digit code Dubai Municipality gives each building entrance. Your Makani number is on the plate at the entrance or in the Makani app. Send it, or a WhatsApp location pin, and our driver can find the right door.

We work in all areas of Dubai, day and night. Here are examples by type, including Palm Jumeirah and Discovery Gardens, which PropertyFinder (February 2026) gives as examples of areas outside the free municipal service, so a private pickup is often the simplest route there:

01

Towers and waterfront: Dubai Marina, JBR, JLT, Downtown Dubai (around Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall), Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah — most of them along the Sheikh Zayed Road corridor

02

Villa communities: Arabian Ranches, Damac Hills, Dubai Hills Estate, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Mirdif

03

Mixed residential: Al Barsha, JVC, Discovery Gardens, International City, Silicon Oasis, Motor City, Sports City

04

Commercial and older districts: Al Quoz, and across the Creek — Deira and Bur Dubai

How access differs. In towers, the lift, loading bay, security desk and parking decide the job. In villas, it’s the driveway, gates and how much garden waste there is. In older walk-ups without a lift, tell us the floor: stairs change the price and crew size.

See the full areas list.

Dubai conditions

Dubai conditions that affect the job

  • Summer heat and the midday break. In summer, temperatures pass 40°C, and the UAE’s Midday Break (15 June to 15 September, 12:30–3pm) bans outdoor work in direct sun. We schedule loading for early morning or late evening in those months and ask you to keep items inside until the crew arrives.
  • Truck bans on the main roads. Since October 2026, trucks are banned from Sheikh Zayed Road and Beirut Street from 6am to 10pm, with peak-hour bans (6:30–8:30am, 1–3pm and 5:30–8pm) on many other roads and all-day bans on a few, including Al Qudra Road and the Airport Tunnel; Emirates Road stays open to trucks. It never stops a pickup — it shapes the route and the window, so we plan both around the bans and give you a realistic arrival window up front.
  • Road closures and big-event weeks. The Dubai Marathon closes roads around Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah from the early hours on its February Sunday, and the Shopping Festival and GITEX weeks slow the whole city down. If your date lands on one, we set off earlier and confirm the window with you the day before.
  • Heavy rain. After the rains of April 2024 flooded homes, Dubai Municipality encouraged residents to use its bulky waste service for ruined furniture. If water has damaged your belongings, send photos and we’ll quote the clearance.
  • Moving season. Demand peaks at month-ends, in June and July when the school year ends and families leave, and again in late August when they return. Book a few days ahead in those weeks if you can.
  • Ramadan and Eid. We take bookings 24 hours a day, including during Ramadan and Eid. Many buildings set their own move-out hours, so we confirm a collection window with you.

Limits

What we can’t take

Gas cylinders, paint and solvents, chemicals, asbestos and medical or clinical waste need specialist handling and licensed facilities. Gulf News reported in 2026 that disposing of hazardous waste at an unauthorised site in Dubai carries a fine of AED 50,000. If you’re unsure about an item, send a photo and we’ll tell you who can take it.

About us

Who you’ll deal with

You deal with us directly. There is no call centre and no middleman: the person who answers your WhatsApp is the person who quotes the job and sends the crew. Dubai Junk Removal has worked across Dubai for the past four years, under Dubai Municipality permit 1486849. Our crews arrive in a truck with our name on it, the price is agreed in writing before we start, and you pay when the job is done. If anything about a job is not right, you message the same number and we put it right.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Does Dubai Municipality collect old furniture for free?

Yes, for eligible households. Dubai Municipality offers free bulky waste collection for household furniture and electrical or electronic items. It excludes residents of real estate development zones and free zones, so check your address first. Terms can change, so confirm on dm.gov.ae.

How do I book the free bulky waste collection?

Apply on WhatsApp or call 800900, or use the Dubai Municipality or DubaiNow app. A municipality employee calls to schedule, usually within about three days, and you receive an SMS after collection.

When should I pay for removal instead?

When your address isn’t covered, when you need a fixed date, or when the load is mixed or damaged: old furniture with general rubbish, garden waste or renovation debris. Free reuse services usually take only items they can resell or repair.

Does the free Dubai Municipality service carry items down from my flat?

Generally not. PropertyFinder’s February 2026 guide says items should be placed at ground level near the building entrance or beside the bins, and that crews generally don’t carry items down from high-rise apartments. If you can’t get the items to ground level, a paid pickup is simpler.

Is the free service available in Palm Jumeirah or Discovery Gardens?

PropertyFinder’s February 2026 guide lists both as examples of development or free zones that the free service excludes. Confirm your address with Dubai Municipality on 800900. We cover both areas.

How much does junk removal cost in Dubai?

It depends on volume, access, item type and timing. PropertyFinder’s February 2026 guide puts a small one-item ground-floor pickup at about AED 100 to 150 and a standard one-truck job at AED 200 to 300. Our starting prices are AED 100 for a single item, AED 300 for a studio or one-bedroom clear-out and AED 600 for a villa. Send photos on WhatsApp for a fixed price, or see the prices page.

Can you collect the same day?

Yes. Message at any hour, day or night, and we collect the same day, at the time you choose. Two things can shape the window: your building’s move-out hours, and the truck bans — trucks are kept off Sheikh Zayed Road from 6am to 10pm, so for addresses on that corridor we agree a window that fits the ban and the route.

Will leaving furniture behind affect my deposit?

It can. Landlords and agents can charge the cost of removing what you leave, plus cleaning, against your deposit. Dubai law does not set a deposit amount — 5% of the annual rent for an unfurnished home and 10% furnished is the market practice — so the safest move is a fully empty unit at the check-out inspection. We clear everything and send after-photos you can show the agent.

Do I need to book the lift or loading bay?

Many Dubai buildings ask for this and may have set move-out hours. Ask building management before the day, and tell us what they say so the crew arrives within the allowed window.

Can I leave old furniture next to the bins?

Don’t. Littering in Dubai carries a fine of up to AED 500, the Municipality’s cameras now spot bulky waste dumped in the wrong places, and your building may add its own penalty. A booked pickup — or the free collection, if your address qualifies — costs less than the risk.

Where does my waste go?

It is sorted first. Usable furniture and appliances are offered for reuse or donation, wood, metal and foam are separated for recycling, and electronics go through the e-waste route Dubai Municipality runs with Enviroserve. What is left goes to a Dubai Municipality–approved disposal site — never an empty plot. Ask us and we can show you the disposal record for your job.

Are you licensed in Dubai?

Waste collection companies need a Dubai Municipality permit. Our permit number is 1486849. Ask us to send a copy before you book.

Do you remove garden waste and palm fronds?

Yes. The Municipality’s green-waste pickup covers some addresses; we take the jobs it can’t schedule or cover — larger loads, tight deadlines, and communities outside its service.

Where can renovation waste legally go?

Only to approved disposal sites, in a licensed carrier. Dubai runs construction waste on a paper trail: a Waste Transfer Note for the load and RASID-registered vehicles, so every load can be traced. If a crew offers to take debris away with no paperwork at a suspiciously low price, walk away — if that load is dumped illegally, liability can reach whoever produced the waste. That’s you.

What can’t you take?

Gas cylinders, paint and solvents, chemicals, asbestos, and medical or clinical waste. Those need specialist handling and licensed facilities. If you’re unsure about an item, send a photo and we’ll tell you who can take it.

What’s my ZIP code in Dubai?

Dubai doesn’t use ZIP or postal codes. Send your building name and community, plus your Makani number (10 digits on the plate at the entrance, or in the Makani app) or a WhatsApp location pin.

Do you work on Fridays, evenings and during Ramadan?

Yes. We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Fridays, evenings and during Ramadan. Your building’s rules may limit collection hours, so we agree a window with you.
